Author's daughter helped him handle his depression

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C.  — Eric Wilson still wants everyone, at least in America, to know there is nothing wrong with being unhappy, sometimes anyway.

The author, husband, father, and Thomas H. Pritchard Professor of English at Wake Forest University, said he used his experience with depression as the motivation for a best-selling book about embracing sadness.
