A person's emotional response to an unsettling or traumatic event may actually be heightened by sleep, according to the results of a polysomnography study.
There was a better memory of negative pictures in the group that was exposed to them just before sleep (F=20.87, P<0.001) and no significant interaction in the group x emotional response interaction (F=0.99, P=0.32),
